Our history
Pez Vela in Stuart, Florida, is the culmination of a lifelong love for food, travel, and community. The owners family have deep roots in Stuart, having spent their childhood visiting with their family and forming cherished memories of the town's charm and coastal beauty. After a life of traveling the world building a global business where they were fortunate to experience some of the finest cuisines, they returned to Stuart in 2020 with a vision to contribute to the culinary landscape of his hometown.
In 2020, they purchased the Taco Shack from their late father, where they brought fresh energy and flavor to a local favorite, while also opening a second location in Jupiter. Building on that success, they launched Stack Burgers and Bourbon in 2024, offering the best burgers and bourbon selection, which quickly became a hit. Yet, something was still missing—a place that could reflect his passion for exceptional food, innovative cocktails, and an extraordinary wine experience. This vision led to the creation of Pez Vela, which means Sailfish, a restaurant where Stuart locals and visitors alike can gather to enjoy a world-class dining experience infused with global inspiration and a deep love for the town that shaped them.
